European strategic stress intelligence
indepEU reveals how social, economic, industrial, environmental and institutional pressures interact across European territories, over time and at their native geographic scale.
Most monitoring tools show indicators in isolation.
How indepEU works
Each reading retains its geography, period, source and comparability rules. Missing evidence is kept visible rather than turned into a false zero.
Collect governed territorial signals across multiple strategic dimensions and time windows.
Position each signal against comparable European territories at the same scale and in the same period.
Identify co-occurrence, persistence and dimensions that deserve investigation together, without presenting association as causality.
Produce an immediate relative-priority reading and a concise English bulletin that explains the local signal in its European context.
Twelve connected dimensions
Users can combine the dimensions relevant to a territory or challenge. The result is not one permanent country score, but a contextual graph of comparable signals and related questions.
The analytical core
indepEU aligns evidence by territory, time, dimension and strategic domain. It calculates transparent peer-relative stress readings, detects recurring and co-occurring configurations, and recommends connected dimensions for deeper investigation.
The current demonstrator uses reproducible deterministic methods. The architecture is designed to evolve into a graph-native, temporal and multi-objective model, evaluated against those transparent baselines rather than replacing them with an opaque summary.
EIC priorities
indepEU is being developed to address European strategic priorities through a shared territorial intelligence model. To test that model rigorously, the first release focuses on one EIC Challenge: Boosting the European Critical Raw Materials Value Chain. The other EIC lenses define the platform’s expansion path, but are not presented as active analytical pilots.
First release · active pilot
Lithium, cobalt, nickel and graphite provide the first bounded environment for testing how territorial, social, economic, environmental, industrial, technological and resilience stresses interact across Europe.
Our challenges in progress
European territorial evidence differs by country, scale, period, classification, format and availability. Our team is developing proprietary algorithms and an AI model with a research team specialising in data correlation and dataset heterogeneity. The objective is not to hide those differences, but to make them governable, comparable and useful without manufacturing false precision.
Align definitions, territorial units, time windows and sector classifications while preserving every source boundary and evidence gap.
Normalise indicators within defensible peer groups so one dimension, selected combinations or the complete system can be explored without arbitrary aggregation.
Develop proprietary methods to detect persistence, co-occurrence and recurring configurations across territories, value chains and strategic dimensions.
Train and evaluate a future model against transparent deterministic baselines, human review and a locked benchmark before using it for analytical recommendations.
Research commitment: the platform is being built as a joint methodological effort between product, domain and research expertise. Correlation will guide investigation, never be presented automatically as causality.
First testing geography
The first comparable geography is the EU-27 country layer, where governed same-year indicators allow every reading to be positioned against a consistent European peer set. Regional, municipal and productive-district detail is added only where native-scale evidence exists, never by spreading national values across local areas.
First testing domain
Lithium, cobalt, nickel and graphite expose Europe’s interdependence between external dependency, circularity, industrial processing, energy, regulation, investment and resilience. This makes the value chain a rigorous first environment for testing multidimensional readings, not a thematic limit for indepEU.
